Integration of 18-FDG PET/CT in the Initial Work-Up to Stage Head and Neck Cancer.

The objective of this study was to assess the therapeutic and prognostic impact of integrating18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) into work-up (WU) at initial staging of patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).

Impact of suboptimal dosimetric coverage of pretherapeutic 18F-FDG PET/CT hotspots on outcome in patients with locally…

Areas of high uptake on pre-treatment 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT), denoted as “hotspots”, have been identified as preferential sites of local relapse in locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC).

Correlation between fluorodeoxyglucose hotspots on preradiotherapy PET/CT and areas of cancer local relapse.

The aim of the present paper is to systematically review all available literature on preradiotherapy high uptake areas (hotspots) as a potential target for dose escalation in different tumour sites, and to understand the potential role and limitations of fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)-positron-emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) in this context.

Pretreatment 18F-FDG PET/CT Radiomics Predict Local Recurrence in Patients Treated with Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy.

The aim of this retrospective multicentric study was to develop and evaluate a prognostic 18F-FDG PET/CT radiomic signature in early-stage non-small cell lung cancer patients treated with stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT).

Prognostic Impact of Pretherapeutic FDG-PET in Localized Anal Cancer.

Due to the heterogeneity of tumour mass segmentation methods and lack of consensus, our study evaluated the prognostic value of pretherapeutic positron emission tomography with fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG-PET) metabolic parameters using different segmentation methods in patients with localized anal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).

Intracellular trafficking and functional monitoring of miRNA delivery in glioblastoma.

MicroRNA (miRNA) oligonucleotides therapeutics are potent and attractive drugs for cancer treatment, but the kinetics of their intracellular trafficking, RISC processing and interaction with their mRNA targets in the cells are still not well understood. Moreover, the absence of efficient carriers impairs their translation into the clinic.

Correlation Between FDG Hotspots on Pre-radiotherapy PET/CT and Areas of HNSCC Local Relapse.

Several series have already demonstrated that intratumoral subvolumes with high tracer avidity (hotspots) in 18F-flurodesoxyglucose positron-emission tomography (FDG-PET/CT) are preferential sites of local recurrence (LR) in various solid cancers after radiotherapy (RT), becoming potential targets for dose escalation.

Detection of ergosterol by liquid chromatography/electrospray mass spectrometry – investigation of unusual in source reactions.

In the field of natural products, de-replication of complex mixtures has become a usual practice to annotate known compounds and avoid their re-isolation. For this purpose, many groups rely on liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS) to deduce molecular formulae of compounds allowing comparison with public or in-house databases.

Functionalization of 9-thioxanthone at the 1-position: From arylaminoderivatives to [1]benzo(thio)pyrano[4,3,2-de]benzothieno[2,3-b]quinolines of biological interest.

Original 1-amino substituted thioxanthone derivatives were easily prepared from the bare heterocycle by a deprotometalation-iodolysis-copper-catalyzed CN bond formation sequence. This last reaction delivered mono- or/and diarylated products depending on the aniline involved.
