Non-invasive imaging prediction of tumor hypoxia: a novel developed and externally validated CT and FDG-PET-based radiomic…

Background: The aim of this study was to determine the safety and efficacy of fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) in combination with systemic therapies (ST) for brain metastases (BM).

Surface imaging for real-time patient respiratory function assessment in intensive care.

Purpose: Monitoring of physiological parameters is a major concern in Intensive Care Units (ICU) given their role in the assessment of vital organ function. Within this context, one issue is the lack of efficient noncontact techniques for respiratory monitoring.

French Health Authority certification visit in a radiotherapy department.

The French Higher Health Authority’s (Haute Autorité de santé [HAS]) certification process is an important issue for a health care facility and in particular for a radiotherapy department. It is based on a quality-risk management methodology driven by the commitment and involvement of professionals.

Use of radiomics in the radiation oncology setting: Where do we stand and what do we…

Radiomics is a field that has been growing rapidly for the past ten years in medical imaging and more particularly in oncology where the primary objective is to contribute to personalised and predictive medicine.

Treatment of radiation-induced late effects: What’s new?

Mechanisms of late radio-induced lesions are the result of multiple and complex phenomena, with many entangled cellular and tissue factors.

In Vivo Albumin-Binding of a C-Functionalized Cyclam Platform for 64 Cu-PET/CT Imaging in Breast Cancer Model.

An improved glucose-chelator-albumin bioconjugate (GluCAB) derivative, GluCAB-2Mal , has been synthesized and studied for in vivo 64 Cu-PET/CT imaging in breast cancer mice models together with its first-generation analogue GluCAB-1Mal . The radioligand works on the principle of tumor targeting through the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect with a supportive role played by glucose metabolism. [64 Cu]Cu-GluCAB-2Mal (99 % RCP) exhibited high serum stability with immediate binding to serum proteins.

Toxicity in patients treated with permanent prostate brachytherapy using intraoperatively built custom-linked seeds versus loose seeds.

Low-dose-rate brachytherapy (BT) with permanent iodine-125 radioactive seeds is a highly effective treatment option for low- and favorable intermediate-risk prostate cancer. However, optimal implantation is not always achieved due to edema or seeds loss. One way to improve seed placement is the use of stranded seeds called “intraoperatively built custom-linked seeds (IBCLS)” in an opposition to loose seeds (LS).

Development of a Prognostic Tool to Guide the Decision to Extend Adjuvant Aromatase Inhibitors for up…

The selection of women with hormone receptor-positive (HR+) early breast cancer (EBC) at high risk of relapse after five years (yrs.) of adjuvant aromatase inhibitors (AIs) is crucial, as the benefit of extending AIs is counterbalanced by toxicity. We developed a clinicopathological tool to estimate the residual risk of relapse after five years of adjuvant AIs.

L’instabilité génomique, paramètre limitant l’efficacité des thérapies ciblées en oncologie.

Genomic instability is one of the main properties of tumour development, promoting first the acquisition of genetic alterations and thus carcinogenesis. Then, the chronic and anarchic proliferation of cancer cells also supports and contributes to this instability allowing a continuous evolution of the tumour.

Public Health Impact of Using Biosimilars, Is Automated Follow up Relevant?

Biologic reference drugs and their copies, biosimilars, have a complex structure. Biosimilars need to demonstrate their biosimilarity during development but unpredictable variations can remain, such as micro-heterogeneity.
