Surface imaging for real-time patient respiratory function assessment in intensive care.

Purpose: Monitoring of physiological parameters is a major concern in Intensive Care Units (ICU) given their role in the assessment of vital organ function. Within this context, one issue is the lack of efficient noncontact techniques for respiratory monitoring.

French Health Authority certification visit in a radiotherapy department.

The French Higher Health Authority’s (Haute Autorité de santé [HAS]) certification process is an important issue for a health care facility and in particular for a radiotherapy department. It is based on a quality-risk management methodology driven by the commitment and involvement of professionals.

Serine 165 phosphorylation of SHARPIN regulates the activation of NF-κB.

The adaptor SHARPIN composes, together with the E3 ligases HOIP and HOIL1, the linear ubiquitin chain assembly complex (LUBAC). This enzymatic complex catalyzes and stamps atypical linear ubiquitin chains onto substrates to modify their fate and has been linked to the regulation of the NF-κB pathway downstream of most immunoreceptors, inflammation, and cell death.

Sonic Hedgehog Signature in Pediatric Primary Bone Tumors: Effects of the GLI Antagonist GANT61 on Ewing’s…

Osteosarcoma (OS) and Ewing’s sarcoma (ES) are the most common malignant bone tumors in children and adolescents. In many cases, the prognosis remains very poor. The Sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling pathway, strongly involved in the development of many cancers, regulate transcription via the transcriptional factors Gli1-3.

In Vivo Albumin-Binding of a C-Functionalized Cyclam Platform for 64 Cu-PET/CT Imaging in Breast Cancer Model.

An improved glucose-chelator-albumin bioconjugate (GluCAB) derivative, GluCAB-2Mal , has been synthesized and studied for in vivo 64 Cu-PET/CT imaging in breast cancer mice models together with its first-generation analogue GluCAB-1Mal . The radioligand works on the principle of tumor targeting through the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect with a supportive role played by glucose metabolism. [64 Cu]Cu-GluCAB-2Mal (99 % RCP) exhibited high serum stability with immediate binding to serum proteins.

Toxicity in patients treated with permanent prostate brachytherapy using intraoperatively built custom-linked seeds versus loose seeds.

Low-dose-rate brachytherapy (BT) with permanent iodine-125 radioactive seeds is a highly effective treatment option for low- and favorable intermediate-risk prostate cancer. However, optimal implantation is not always achieved due to edema or seeds loss. One way to improve seed placement is the use of stranded seeds called “intraoperatively built custom-linked seeds (IBCLS)” in an opposition to loose seeds (LS).

Development of a Prognostic Tool to Guide the Decision to Extend Adjuvant Aromatase Inhibitors for up…

The selection of women with hormone receptor-positive (HR+) early breast cancer (EBC) at high risk of relapse after five years (yrs.) of adjuvant aromatase inhibitors (AIs) is crucial, as the benefit of extending AIs is counterbalanced by toxicity. We developed a clinicopathological tool to estimate the residual risk of relapse after five years of adjuvant AIs.

Design of new disubstituted imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine derivatives as selective Haspin inhibitors. Synthesis, binding mode and anticancer biological…

Haspin is a mitotic protein kinase required for proper cell division by modulating Aurora B kinase localisation and activity as well as histone phosphorylation. Here a series of imidazopyridazines based on the CHR-6494 and Structure Activity Relationship was established.
